The Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is a common written test for the admission processes at the undergraduate institutes of Symbiosis International University established as under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 vide notification No.F.9.12/2001 U.3 of the Govt. of India. In the year 2002, there were 3 constituent institutes of SIU. Subsequently ten more iinstitutes of Symbiosis have been brought under the ambit of the Symbiosis International University vide notification No.F.9.12/2006-U.3 (A).
Symbiosis is known for quality education and offers an array of undergraduate programmes in Law, Management, Computer Studies, Health Sciences, Design, Media & Communication, Economics, Engineering, Liberal Arts and Culinary Arts. SET(General) is a mandatory computer based test (CBT) for the admission process for some of the undergraduate programmes at the Symbiosis institutes;
SET General is a mandatory written test for the admission process for the undergraduate programmes at the following Symbiosis institutes:-
Note: Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS), Symbiosis School of Nursing (SCON), Symbiosis School of Visual Arts and Photography (SSVAP) “[Formerly Symbiosis School of Photography (SSP)], Symbiosis Institute of Design, Pune (SID), Symbiosis School of Planning, Architecture and Design, Nagpur (SSPAD) and for Symbiosis School of Culinary Arts (SSCA) should visit the respective institute website for further details.
Candidates aspiring to join B.A LL.B(Hons) /B.B.A LL.B (Hons) /B.A LL.B. /B.B.A LL.B in the institutes given below, has to appear for computer based test (CBT) known as Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT)
Candidates who wants to join B.Tech programmes has to appear for computer based test (CBT) known as SIT Engineering Entrance Exam (SITEEE). The Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT) also admits students through JEE Main conducted at the national level / MHT-CET/ other state level entrance test. For Engineering, if a candidate applies to seek admission on the basis of test other than SITEEE, he/she need not register for SITEEE; rather he/she may apply directly to the following institutes through the institute website ( https://www.sitpune.edu.in/ and https://sitnagpur.edu.in/ )
Candidate should note that SET is only the first step. Each Symbiosis institute has its independent selection process.
International Students
Symbiosis Centre for International Education takes care of International Students aspiring for admission to the Constituent Institutes of Symbiosis International University.
Categories listed under International Students Admissions:
Foreign National (FN):
A student is eligible to apply as a Foreign National (FN), if he/she holds
a foreign passport.
Person of Indian Origin (PIO):
A student is eligible to apply as a Person of Indian Origin (PIO), if
he/she has a PIO card, and is a citizen of a country other than India.
Non Resident Indian (NRI):
A student is eligible to apply as a Non Resident Indian (NRI), if he/she
has appeared either for the 10 or 10+2 (equivalent to the Indian 10th
& 12th) examination outside India.
It is mandatory for the student who falls in the NRI Category and has appeared for 12th in India to appear for the SET TEST for the particular course chosen.
