How to Join in CISF
Advertisement related to recruitment of the Enrolled Members in CISF will be advertised in Employment News/Rojgar Samachar and leading news papers of country. Recruitment to the posts of sub-inspectors and assistant commanders are open to graduates while for junior positions eligibility is a school leaving certificate. Preference will be given to NCC certificate holders. Women can also join in Central Industrial security force as officer cadre.
The recruitment process for various post in ITBP is as follows :
Entry to Group ‘A’ rank structure begins at the level of Assistant Commandant. Recruitment to the rank of Assistant Commandant (Junior Time Scale) takes place from four sources, viz. 50% by promotion from the rank of Inspector, 10% by absorption of security officers from PSUs, 10% by re-employment of ex-army officers and 30% by direct recruitment through Civil Services Examination.

The training for Assistant Commandant is conducted in NISA, Hyderabad. After training, officers can join as Assistant Commandants in the Junior Scale. Thereafter, a few years later they are eligible for promotion to the rank of Deputy Commandant, which is in the Senior Scale. After that CISF officers can hope to become Commandants or Additional Inspector General.
Recruitment of Sub Inspector in CISF are through Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE). Only Constable/GD, Constable/Tradesmen, Head Constable/GD and Assistant Sub Inspector/Exe who have completed 4 years service including the period of training are eligible for examination of LDCE.
Eligibility :
The eligibility conditions for appearing in the aforesaid competitive
examination will be as under: -

Final Selection
Name of candidates will be placed in the merit list subject to the provision that candidates belonging to General category have secured minimum 50% aggregate marks i.e., 100 marks out of a total of 200 marks and candidate belonging to SC/ST category have secured minimum 45% aggregate marks i.e. 90 marks. Final selection of candidates will be made according to availability of vacancies and subject to their declaring ‘Fit’ in the medical examination.
Constable (General Duty)
Constable/ GD recruitment is carried out by SSC (Staff Selection Commission). The recruitment will comprise of Physical Standards Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Written Examination and Medical Examination. Constabulary forms the major component of the forces. The working mainly depends upon the effectiveness of the personnel at this level. Therefore, it is important that only candidates having the right aptitude, capability and fitness in all respects apply for the posts.
Eligibility :
The educational qualification for the Constable/GD in CISF is 10th
class pass from recognized board/university. The candidates who produce
certificate other than the recognized State/Central Board have to submit
Certified True Copy of Govt. of India Notification declaring such qualification
equivalent to Matric/10th Class pass for service under the Govt. of India.
In case of failure to submit the same, their candidature may be rejected.
1. Physical Standards Test (PST) :
(Female candidates are eligible for posts earmarked for them only)
Physical standards laid down for the post of Constable are :
a) Height :
For Males: 170 cms.
For Females : 157 cms.
b) Chest :
For males only - Unexpanded : 80 cms
Expanded: Min expansion 5 cms
c) Weight :
For males and Females : Proportionate to height and
age as per medical standards
Relaxations:
Relaxation in Height, weight and Chest are available for candidates falling
in the categories of Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Dogras, Marathas and candidates
belonging to the States of Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir,
North Eastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram,
Nagaland, Sikkim & Tripura and candidates hailing from Gorkha Territorial
Administration (GTA) comprising of the three SubDivisions of Darjeeling
District namely Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Kurseong

2. Written Examination
The candidates qualifying in PST/PET will be called for a Written Examination. Though the Commission will endeavour to accommodate the candidates in centres opted by him / her, it may combine the centres or divert the candidates to other centres, depending on administrative convenience.
The Written examination will consist of only one objective type paper containing 100 questions and carrying 100 marks, with the following composition -

All questions will be of Objective Multiple Choice Types. Questions will be set bilingually in Hindi and English/ Trilingually in English and Hindi/Kashmiri (Urdu Script for J&K), Marathi (Maharashtra), Gujarati (Gujarat), Malayalam (Kerala), Kannada (Karnataka), Telegu (Andhra Pradesh),Tamil (Tamil Nadu), Oriya (Odisha), Bengali (West Bengal and Tripura), Punjabi (Gurmukhi script for Punjab), Assamese (Assam & Arunachal Pradesh), Manipuri (Manipur) and Mizo (Mizoram). Accordingly the paper can be answered in any of these languages in Parts A, B and C. Candidates are required to attempt either Hindi or English section of Part 'D' of the question paper.

(i) The candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose
vein or squint in eyes and they should posses high color vision. They
must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect
likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.
(ii) Only those candidates who have scored above the cut off marks fixed
by the Commission in Written Examination will be required to appear in
the Medical Examination. The Commission shall have the discretion to fix
different qualifying standards for candidates belonging to different categories
in different states/UTs, taking into consideration vacancies allotted
to each State/UT.
(iii) The selected candidates will be medically examined to assess their
physical and medical fitness as prescribed in the eligibility conditions.
(iv) Medical Test (X-Ray & laboratory) shall be conducted only for
such candidates who are found fit after initial medical examination.
(v) In case of medical examination, “temporary unfitness”
will not be allowed. However, any such female candidate who during the
medical examination is found to be pregnant of twelve weeks standing or
above, she shall be declared temporarily unfit and her appointment held
in abeyance until the confinement is over.
(vi) Candidates declared unfit may file an appeal/representation within
15 days of rejection by the medical board.
(vii) Those candidates who are found fit on appeal by the Appeal Panel
(Review Medical Board) and who meet the merit criteria fixed by the Commission
for final selection, subject to availability of vacancies , will be placed
in the “Reserve List” and recruited against unfilled vacancies.
The candidates in the Reserve List will be en-masse junior to the candidates
in the 'Select List'.
(viii) Testimonials of the candidates will be checked at the medical examination
stage.
(ix) The nodal force will provide the list of medically fit candidates
to SSC
