The recruitment will be done by the Rally System. The range DIG with the approval of ADG/ IG will send recruitment teams to specified areas twice a year in the month of April-May and October- November. The Board of officers will consist of a Commandant, two gazetted officer including a Medical Officer and a Co-opted member.
All the selections are made on the basis of written test, physical test, medical test, trade test, typing test in the respective categories. Candidates must have good medical standards and eye vision. The eligibility such as age, educational qualification, experience should be verified from the original certificate produced by the candidates. Those who do not conform to the eligibility criteria as advertised, will not be considered.
SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen and other categories of personnel in accordance with the instructions issued by the Government from time to time get reservation, age relaxation, and relaxation in physical measurements.
The recruitment process for various post in CRPF is as follows :
On the basis of Written Test, Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Interview
The written exam consists of two papers totaling 300 marks
After qualifying the written test, the candidates has to undergo the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) comprising :
100m. Race to be completed in 16 seconds (Men) and 18 seconds (Women)
800m. Race to be completed in 3 min (Men) and 4 min. (Women)
Long Jump: 3.50m for men and 3 m for Women.
High Jump: 1.05m for men and 0.90m for women.
Short Putt (7.26 kg): 4.50m. for men only
The candidate will be given 3 chances to qualify the minimum requirement in long jump, high jump and short putt. Failure in any one of these events leads to disqualification.
On clearing the PET, you will be called in for an interview. Here your psyche and aptitude will be assessed along with your general awareness and general intelligence. Preference in selection is given to outstanding sports men & NCC cadets who have a good record.
Finally you have to clear a medical examination and then make it into the merit list.
Engineering and Medial professionals can also enter the Medical and Technical wings of the CRPF at the level of Assistant Commandant or above through the same selection procedure.
Medical Officers
The post of Medical Officers are filled up by direct recruitment, failing
which, by transfer on deputation or transfer of suitable persons holding
equivalent or analogous posts under the Central or State Governments or
Public Sector Undertaking or Autonomous bodies, or transfer on deputation
or re-employment of Medical Officers of Army Medical Crops, possessing
the qualifications prescribed for direct recruits.
Age limit:
Between 23 and 30 years (relaxable for government servants and released
Army Medical Crops Officers upto five years in accordance with the instructions
or orders issued by the government).
Educational Qualification :
i) A recognized Medical qualifications included in the First Schedule
or the Second Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of
1956) and enrolment in any State Medical Register maintained under that
act.
ii) Compulsory rotatory internship
Physical Standard
Height : 157 Cms. relaxable by 2 cms for Gorkhas, Garwalis, Kumaonees,Dogras,
Marathas and 3 Cms in respect of Adivasis and female candidates.
Chest : 77 Cms. unexpanded and 82 Cms expanded.
Weight : Proportionate to the height and age
On the basis of Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Written Test and Interview
The candidates who on screening are found medically fit are allowed to appear in Physical Efficiency Test. The test consists of:

Constable
On the basis of Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Written Test and Interview

Candidates, who are found fit in eligibility and PET will be put through respective Trade Test. Test is to be prescribed as per requirement of the job. Trade Test conducting for various categories of Followers are :

The candidates will be medically examined after the Trade Test, to assess their physical and medical fitness as prescribed in the eligibility conditions. Those who fail in the Medical examination will not be considered far the post of Followers. A merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the VIII Class from a recognised Central / State School and the marks obtained in the trade test of particular job.
