Iowa State University USA provides International Merit Scholarships for talented students for pursuing their undergraduate studies at the Iowa State University (USA). The Scholarship is awarded to students who have demonstrated strong academic achievement, and outstanding talent or achievements in one or more of the following areas:

Math and sciences
Arts
Extracurricular activities
Community service
Leadership
Innovation
Entrepreneurship

Scholarship Details

The international merit scholarship are provided in twolevels.

Gold: $8,000/year (renewable)
Cardinal: $4,000/year (renewable)

Freshmen and transfer applicants are eligible for both levels of awards.

i. Freshman recipients will be funded for a maximum of 8 semesters, or completion of the degree, whichever comes first.
ii. Transfer recipients will be funded for a maximum of 5 semesters, or completion of the degree, whichever comes first

Eligibility

Candidate should

Be international students and must have completed an international application for admission
Be an incoming international freshmen applicants and international transfer applicants with fewer than 66 transferable semester credits
Have a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) comparable to a minimum of 3.0 out of 4.0 (B)
Have SAT score is not required, but if submitted, it will be considered

Renewal Requirements
The following criteria must be met during your Iowa State career to maintain the scholarship:

Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 while enrolled at Iowa State
Continuous enrollment in a minimum of 12 semester credits each semester (summers not included)
Only students assessed non-resident tuition are eligible for this award
The award may only be used toward undergraduate tuition and fees

How to Apply

Candidate can apply through online http://www.admissions.iastate.edu. As the candidate's application file is reviewed as part of the scholarship consideration, candidates should submit the application for admission to undergraduate course through http://www.admissions.iastate.edu and all required transcripts, financial documents, and examination results before applying for the International Merit Scholarship.

Once the candidate the application for admission has submitted, the candidate may then complete the International Merit Scholarship application form through the website. The candidate should use the exact name as it is entered on the application for admission. This is for the admission committee to match the scholarship application with the undergraduate application . Along with the form the candidate should upload the following documents:

A current resume or CV listing their achievements (in PDF format)
One letter of recommendation
A 500-word essay
