Japanese Government MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology) offers Scholarships for Foreign Research Students residing in India to study as Research Student/ Master’s Course/ Ph.D. courses at Japanese Universities. Applicants should be a (non-degree) student or Regular Student for a Degree under the Japanese Government Scholarship Program. The aim of this scholarship is to foster human resources who will become bridges of friendship between your country and Japan through study in Japan and who will contribute to the development of both countries and the wider world.

Scholarship Description
This scholarship is available for 2 years from April or One and a half year from October*1 (Including a half year of Japanese language training period*2) and will cover 144,000yen (Research Students)
For Research Student / Master’s Degree
For Ph.D. Degree
For Research Student/Master’s degree in Japanese Language
For Ph.D. degree in Japanese Language
For Management course a minimum GMAT score of 650 with a Bachelor Degree
Age Limit
Below 35 (born on or after April 2, 1985)
The application should be sent to the Embassy through email : scholarship-india@nd.mofa.go.jp as an attachment, by the required date along with following information order (1) Brief info(2) Application Form 3) Field of Study & Research Proposal and 4) Placement Preference form, mentioning subject Research Student and file name as field of study-name.pdf (e.g. physics-amit.pdf). Applications received on this email id only will be considered as submitted application.
The candidate are shortlisted and called for interview. Shortlisted applicants must submit the following documents to the Japanese diplomatic missions by the required date.
