Jubilee Scholarships, launched by British Council and the UK Government in 2012, enables young Indian graduates or professionals to pursue a one year Masters programme in a recognised UK institution, followed with a month-long internship programme in the UK. Launched as a part of Her Majesty the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, the scholarship aims to support greater access to Higher Education in the UK and provide a new opportunity for students to fund their education.

Upto 60 Jubilee Scholarships will be awarded for Indian graduates with excellent academic record for one year Masters programme in the subject areas of Management, Manufacturing or Science and Technology at recognised UK institution, starting from the month of September.

Eligibility :

The candidates applying for Jubilee Scholarships must be :

An Indian national with a valid Indian passport and currently be living in India
A graduate with an excellent academic track record
Should have applied for admission to a Masters course (for no more than 12 months duration) at a UK institution
An ideal candidate
Must have ambition, entrepreneurial and creative spirit and leadership skills
Must demonstrate commitment to return to India and make a contribution to the future development of the country

Duration of Jubilee Scholarship is 1 year

Terms of Scholarship :

The Jubilee scholarship award will cover

University tuition fee
Living expenses for the duration of the scholarship (for a maximum of 12 months) and a one month internship in the UK
Return airfare
UK visa fee

Additional allowances for field work, travel for conferences, seminars, books, equipment, warm clothing, spouse or child allowance, etc. will not be covered.

Application & Selection Process

Application should be completed and submitted online. The online application form can be available from the website www.britishcouncil.in/study-uk/jubilee-scholarships

An active email address is required to begin the online registration process. The Statement of Purpose in the application form is important and should be as clear and explicit as possible. Applicants are advised to check that all information provided in the application form is accurate and clear before submission. No details could be changed after submission.

Applicants must have in hand to submit when requested, original/scanned copies of the following documents.

Self attested copies of academic transcripts and certificates (and translations, if relevant)
Passport details
Passport size photograph
Two academic references or one academic and one professional reference in a prescribed format which can be obtained from the website.

Only the short listed candidates will be contacted by the British Council by the month of June through email or telephone numbers provided in the application. So the applicant must ensure to provide correct email and telephone numbers and keep them active. No enquiries in this regard will be dealt with. The decision of the short listing panel is final and no feedback will be given on any application. Securing the Tier 4 Student visa is the responsibility of the individual candidates.

The award is valid for entry in September /October and it cannot be deferred. Jubilee Scholars are expected to complete their course of study within one year and under any circumstances the scholarship will not be extended.
