Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment, an autonomous body of Government of Kerala has been providing Research Fellowships for qualified candidate to do Ph. D. work. This scheme was established in 2002 to provide research training and to promote and support MSc/M.Tech rank holders from the Universities in Kerala to develop their careers as scientists.

Subject areas:

Mathematical Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Engineering Sciences and Environmental Sciences.

The KSCSTE Research Fellow can register for Ph.D. in any of the Universities in Kerala in the subject of study.

Provisions

The Fellowship carries a monthly stipend of Rs 31,000/- for the first two years (JRF) and Rs. 35,000/- per month in the third year (SRF). Additionally, there is an annual contingency grant of Rs. 20,000/-. (With effect from January 2020). All Research Fellows shall be allowed hostel accomodation wherever available and those residing in hostel provided by University/Institute shall not be eligible for HRA. Reimbursement of hostel fee shall not permissible, Where hostel facility is not possible. House Rent Allowance shall be allowed maximum of 10% of their fellowship.
The fellowship is for a period not exceeding three years.

Eligibility Criteria :

Candidates who have qualified the post-graduate degree, shall have three consecutive chances to apply for the Fellowship programme. Thus, a candidate who has passed the examination in the current year can apply in this year, the next year, and year after next.
The candidates (General and OBC candidates) should have minimum 70.00% marks or equivalent CGPA in their PG examination and 65.00% for SC/ST and differently-abled candidates.
Only candidates who have their qualifying degree (PG) from any of the Universities in Kerala are eligible to apply.
Upper age limit: Maximum 35 years (Should not exceed 35 years as on the 1st of the month of advertisement published in the website) for all applicants.

The online submission window will be available only till the last date. Before proceeding to the online submission, kindly ensure that you have softcopies of the following items listed below (Kindly Ensure that the total size of all the uploads together wont exceed 5MB), if not they may be scanned and made handy (minimum file size) for attaching the same during online submission.

A passport size photo ( Image size should not exceed 50KB in JPG format. Image Dimension: 150W X 200H px )
Signature ( Image size should not exceed 30KB in JPG format. Image Dimension : 150W X 100H px )
MSc./ M.Tech Certificate (for 2023 pass out applicants, provisional certificate may be sufficient)
M.Sc/M.Tech Marklist
Certificate to prove age/DOB (10th or 12th certificate/Birth certificate)
Certificate to prove caste (for SC/ST candidates)
Medical Certificate (for Differently abled candidates) countersigned by Medical Superindendent/ CMO/ Head of the Hospital
