U.T. Administration of Daman and Diu offers National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Examination is for students studying in class V111 during the current Academic Year in Govt. School and Aided School.

Scholarship Details

Under this scheme, 100,000 scholarships are awarded to the gifted or meritorious students whose parental income is more than Rs 1,50,000/- per annum from all sources. Each State /UT have fixerl quota of scholarship as given at Annexure of concemed age group of class V11 and VIII. The scheme would providc reservation to difrerent categories of srudents as per the State/UT norms: as different States/UTs have thcir own norms of reservation.

These scholarships will be provided on yearry basis to the students studying as regular sludents in class IX in a Couemment' Government-aided and local body schools which will be renewcd for class X' Xl and X1l' . Thus the scholarships will be for a maximum period of four years'. The amount ol scholarship will be Rs.12000/- per annum @ Rs I000 per month. A separate examination will be conducted by the Slate Governments/lJT Adrninistrations for selection of students for the arvard of the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Examination in tlre States/UTs'

Reservations:

3% for Physically Challenged group of students, with benchmark disabilities of which, one percent each shall be reserved for person with benchmark disabilities under clauses (a), (b) and (c) and one percent for persons with benchmark disabilities under clauses (d) and (e) namely:

Blindness and low vision (BLV)
Deaf and hard of hearing (DH)
Locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy (LD)
Autism, intellectual disability, specific leaming disability and mental illness (AID)
Multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses (a) to (d) including deaf-blindness in the posts identified for each disabilities. (MD)

Eligibility Criteria

Students studying in class V111 during the current Academic Year in Govt. School and Aided School who has secured at least 55% marks obtained in class VII are eligible (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST) students
The Income limit for parents should not exceed Rs. 1, 50,000/-.

Examination Pattern

Each Stare/UT will conduct its own test for selection of students for the award of the National Means-cum-Metit Scholarship' The State Level Examination may consists of the follorving two tests:

Mental Ability Test (MAT)
Consists of 90 multiple-choice questions testing verbal and non-verbal meta-cognitive abilities like reasoning and critical thinking. The questions in the test may be on analogy classification numerical
series pattern perception, hidden figure etc.
Scholastic Aptitutde Test (SAT)
Consists of 90 multiple-choice questions testing .The questions in the test may be on Science, Social Studies and Mathematics as taught in class V11 and V111

Duration of the test

90 minutes. Disability students will be given extra time.

The completed Application Forms and Excel Sheet Proforma in respect of concern school along with the prescribed fees should be sent to State Liaison Officer, (NTS) / Head Master,Govt, High School - E/M, Nani Daman,Opp. Custom House, Nani Daman

Documents required

Selfattested xerox copy of progress report (STD VII) for NMMSS.
Self attested xerox copy of SC/ST/OBC Certificate for SC/ST/0BC Candidate.
Disabilities status certificate from the competent authority for Physically Challenged.
Income Certificate for those who apply for NMMSS Exam.
