One can enroll in Indian coast guard as Officers or Yantriks (technicians) or Naviks (sailors). The educational qualifications and physical standards for these posts are given below.

Law Branch | (i) A degree in Law with 8 years experiences in legal matters. (ii) Should be qualified for enrolment as an advocate in a High Court. Desirable (i) A post graduate degree in Law. (ii) Knowledge / Experience Assignment connected with International Law/Maritime Law. |

Yantriks and Naviks are the normal posts of Indian coast guard. Only male can apply for these posts.
