The Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program is funded by the U.S. Department of State. It is a nine-month, non-degree program provided to young college teachers of English or those training to be teachers of English. FLTA program offers an opportunity to refine their teaching skills, increase their English language proficiency and extend their knowledge of the cultures and customs of the United States, while strengthening the instruction of foreign languages at U.S. colleges and universities.

Eligibility

To participate in the Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program (FLTA), the applicants must : 

The selected Fulbright FLTA participants from India will be given an opportunity to serve as an assistant in Hindi, Bengali, Urdu or Gujarati classrooms at selected US universities. Placements range from large institutions and small liberal art schools to community colleges and minority-serving institutions. Fulbright FLTA candidates should be adaptable to different locations and situations. 

Age Limit : Applicants should be between 21 and 29 years old at the time of application. 

How to Apply

Candidates can submit an online application at https://apply.embark.com/student/fulbright/flta along with supporting documents. 

Candidates must also send the three confidential letters of reference, academic marksheets/transcripts, English language proficiency test scores (if any) and passport copy.

Employed applicants need to submit their applications through proper channel by the application deadline.
