TWAS is an autonomous international organization founded in Trieste, Italy, in 1983.TWAS in collaboration with Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) offers fellowships to young scientists from developing countries for pursuing postdoctoral research in a field of natural sciences and technology in India. TWAS-CSIR Postdoctoral Fellowships are available at any CSIR research laboratories and institutes in India.

The Fellowship is for or a minimum period of six months to a maximum of 12 months‚ and provides:
CSIR will provide a monthly stipend to cover for living costs, food and health insurance. The monthly stipend will not be convertible into foreign currency. In addition, Fellowship awardees are entitled to subsidized accommodation.
The candidates should :
Age limit: Maximum age of 45 years on 31 December of the application year
The language of instruction for foreign scholars in CSIR laboratories/institutes is English so they should submit the evidence of proficiency in English.
Candidates can sent the application in the prescribed format given in the website to both TWAS and CSIR by email. The application should be attached along with acceptance letter from the host institution.
Candidates should submit an official acceptance letter from the host institution (CAPES-listed institution to CSIR and TWAS) . The application will not be considered for selection without preliminary acceptance.
Reference letters: Referees must send signed letters as attachments via e-mail directly to TWAS and CSIR. The subject line must consists of CSIR/PDoc/candidate's surname. Alternatively, letters should be sent by post in sealed envelopes.
