U.T. Administration of Daman and Diu offers National Talent Search Examination for Class X students from Govt./GoW.Aided/Un-Aided / INV Schools.

The first phase of National Talent Search Exam (NTSE) students studying in class X, during the Academic Year (current year) from Govt./GoW.Aided/Un-Aided / INV Schools are eligible.
No income criteria.

The National Talent Search Examination for students stdying in class X is meant to identify and nurture the talent.The examination is conducted every year at two levels : Stage-I (StateLeve[) and Stage-Il (National Level).

Scholarship Details

About one thousand scholarships are awarded for different stages of education as follows:

Scholarship of Rs.1250/-per month lor class XI to XII.
Scholarship of Rs.2000/-per month for Undergraduates and Post Graduates
Amount of scholarship for Ph.D. is fixed in accordance with the UGC norms.

Reservations:

At the national level for stage-Il Examination 15% for students belonging to the SC category, 7.5%o for students belonging to the ST category and 27% for students belonging to OBC category (Non-creamy layer) as per central list available on rvrvw.ncbc.nic.in/user panel/centralliststateview.aspx and 4% for Physically Challenged group of students, with benchmark disabilities of which, one percent each shall be reserved for person with benchmark disabilities under clauses (a), (b) and (c) and one percent for persons with benchmark disabilities under clauses (d) and (e) namely:

Blindness and low vision (BLV)
Deaf and hard of hearing (DH)
Locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy (LD)
Autism, intellectual disability, specific leaming disability and mental illness (AID)
Multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses (a) to (d) including deaf-blindness in the posts identified for each disabilities. (MD)

Eligibility Criteria

All the students of class X studying in recognized schools are eligible to appear for the stage examination, conducted by the States/UTs, in which the schoors are located.There will be no domicile restriction.
Students registered under open Distance Leaming (ODL) will also be eligible for scholarship, provided the student is below the age of 18 years (as on 1st July of the current year), the student is not employed and he/she is appearing in class examination for the first time.

Selection Procedure

Stage-l selection will be done by ur and those who are selected/recommended from stage-I examination, will be eligible to appear for stage-ll examination, conducted by NCERT

Qualifing marks for candidates from SC/ST/PH category is 32% in each paper and lor other category it is 40% in each paper.

Duration of the examination : 120 minutes (30 minutes extra for visuallY challenged candidate)

Self attested xerox copy of SC/ST/OBC Certificate for SC/ST/0BC Candidate.
Disabilities status certificate from the competent authority for Physically Challenged.
