The CGFNS Certification Program is designed specifically for registered (first-level, general) nurses educated outside the United States who are eligible to practice as registered nurses in the United States. This programme tests the candidate's nursing knowledge and their understanding and use of English language skills.
The program comprised of three parts :
The successful candidates are awarded a CGFNS Certificate when they have passed both the nursing section and the English language section of the examination. CGFNS Qualifying Exam is one of the requirements for obtaining an occupational visa to work in the United States. CGFNS certificate is required by a majority of U.S. states in order to take the NCLEX-RN examination. CGFNS certificate holders consistently have a higher rate of success on the NCLEX-RN than nurses who do not.
